Another busy week...

After blogging last Sunday, I did the usual chores.  Then we took the Swanson's to TSC to pick up fencing supplies for there new goat pen.  Greg and I went to Jade Garden for lunch afterwards and then home.  I did some family history stuff and caught up on my farm bookwork for May.  Then evening chores and porch monkeys until the mosquitoes chased us inside.

Monday-Weeded in the vegetable garden again and planted the second planting of green beans before morning chores and breakfast.  After, we drove to Rives Junction to pick up the new Chickens that I bought.  It is a quad of three hens and one rooster.  The are Black Copper Marans and they lay chocolate brown eggs.  I will be sure to take a picture as soon as I get one.  Have to wait until fall before they start laying.  I went to the grocery store after lunch.  Evening chores then worked on Ashley's wedding dress alterations and Jeremiah's shirts.

Tuesday-Clipped and trimmed feet of two yearlings after morning chores.  Planted four zucchini seeds and about  25 foot of "sink" potatoes.  Also weeded one corner of the big flower garden as well as planted more flower bulbs.  Greg took the blown out tire off the second baler, we would like to move it out of the pasture it is in, so we can let the yearling goats in there.

Wednesday-Too hot to do much! Got some store bought raspberries frozen before chores.  Did Meals on Wheels and knitting group.  Got to see Raija's new place.  Really cute older home with nice wood work.  Greg bagged the berries, when they were solid and then froze more asparagus.  I tilled up the area next to the milk house and spread package after package of wildflower seeds and  any left over seeds that I had.  Hope some of them take as it is an area that is really  hard to mow!  Rained and thundered part of the night, not enough wet to register on the rain gauge.

Thursday-Much cooler.  Noticed that Dale's corn has sprouted, it took just under a week.  I  have a Share customer now.  She came today to buy her share and pick up her first installment.  Then my friend Dawn came to pick up some goats milk to give to the calves they are raising.  In the end we will get some of the beef in exchange for the milk.  Finally got the big flower garden weeded.  Took most of the day between visitors.  Now we just start over again and do the each one again, just to keep it all up.

Friday-Worked on the wedding dress all day.  Got the out skirt hem done, that was the scary part, not right and everyone would see it.  Now just need to do the under skirts and then onto the little girl dresses.

Saturday-Spent a big part of the day at an estate auction.  Spent just under $50 and came home with some hose and a hose cart, a log cabin bird feeder, a catalytic heater, a water bath canner and three really pretty mixing bowls.  Then spent the rest of the afternoon and evening mowing hay.  What a job!  Because of the weather we haven't been able to get it mowed in time, so it was REALLY REALLY long and thick.  It sure isn't the prettiest mowed hay we've ever done, but at least it's done.  Late pizza, chores and TV and then dead in bed!

Sorry,  no picture taken yet this week.  If I get any I will add them later.

Another busy week is shaping up, hay to bale, Daniella to stay over, shirt work, and all the usual stuff...Onward and Upward!
