May 22-28, on my new schedule.

Feeling good, after already getting something done...I cut herbs from the garden and got them out on drying trays in the greenhouse this morning.  Now I have time for my weekly blog.

Last Sunday was a busy one, lots of visitors.  Don and Betty came by to see the twins.  When they have things ready, the twins will be going home with them, Betty is excited to have some cute critters to love and play with.

Chita was here early to make curtains for their travel trailer.  They are RVing at Holiday Shores in Durand with Gary's side and friends.

We picked a big bunch of asparagus which was later froze and we also got the brooder ready for our first batch of broilers coming on Monday.

Monday we did garden work and managed to get all the vegetables in.  My Spinning ladies came plus one and we had a good time.  I took them out to bottle feed the twins and they loved it.  They said it was like going on a field trip to the farm!  While the ladies were here, Greg did some repair work on  Cubby.

Vegetable garden with plenty of "sticks" growing.

Tuesday the broilers arrived.  We picked more asparagus.  Mowed the lawn.  Weeded the Iris garden.  Put up a flag pole, that was our Christmas gift from Miles and Melissa a couple years ago.  Greg got the tiller and push mower running.

Broiler chicks in the brooder.

Wednesday was the usual, Meals on Wheels and knitting group.  In the evening I worked on Jeremiah's embroidery design.

Thursday I met with Maple Smith.  She and I are going to do a seminar about spinning at the American Dairy Goat Convention this coming October.  We have never met until now.  A mutual friend introduced us.  We spent the day getting to know each other and dyeing some of my wool.  We had a good time and I enjoyed learning her technique.

The dyed rovings from my day with Maple.

Friday I began the process of clipping all the goats.  I got the two milkers clipped and their feet trimmed.  Greg and I went shopping for our next home improvement project...ceiling and walls for the laundry room.  We got what we were looking for at Lowes.  I also did some washing of wool.  Maple gave me a great wool washing bag and it works!  I was able to wash one complete fleece and I didn't felt any of it!  Thank you, Maple!

Saturday I got two more goats clipped and trimmed.  Greg helped this time and was over much quicker.  After having lunch, we went Rummage Saling.  I have some equipment I would like to get to do the dyeing, like Maple, so thought maybe I could find it at some sales.  Found some stuff, but only two things on my shopping list.  We picked up pizza on the way home and then after chores we sat around the campfire and I dozed.  Good evening.  We were celebrating 11 years living here!

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, we have  no special plans, other then a good cookout of steak and asparagus.

Plenty going on this coming week, so should have lots to blog about.

Hoping this plan will work...

I am planning on doing a blog entry each Sunday now.  It seems to be the only time I have to play on  computer.  Been a week since I last was on, but I didn't do any real blog.  So this week will be for just the past week.

I have some of the vegetable garden in, we planted pepper plants in the square foot garden and then covered them with milk jugs, good thing it got really cold a few nights after planting.

The tall green stuff is the garlic I planted last fall.  The bushy stuff, is basil.

We now have twins as of Monday May 16, one of each.  First time mommy, Mildred kept giving me signs that she was going to deliver on Saturday the 14th, so I stayed home from a bridal shower, but she didn't kid until monday!  We have a doeling and buckling each doing well.  They already have a future forever home...our friends from Laingsburg are going to take them.  This is is good and comical as well...the kids were born on Don's birthday, we call them Don and Betty (the neighbor's names) just for fun.

Here's the crowd, Isabeau, Anya and the twins.  Anya is learning how to be a "Mommy Dog", just like Isabeau.

So far, in the last couple of weeks I have broke both tractors!  The Massey's tie rod broke while I was working up the garden area, and Cubby quit running while I was mowing the lawn the last time.  Massey is back up and running, but Cubby is taking a bit longer to repair.

Have been thinking alot about Market and when it would be starting up.  Found out that St. Johns will start June 18th, so I have a few more weeks before that one.  Thought I might like to do Laingsburg's this year, maybe alternate between the two.  Found out that Laingsburg is going to do their's on Wednesdays from 4-8.  Bad day, already have Meals on Wheels and the Knitting group.  Guess Laingsburg will just miss out.

I plan to go to St. Johns all season, with a few exceptions.  Like the very first one, that is a goat show.  This is the only goat show that I can make it to this year, so goats first, then market.

Anya is growing like a weed.  Went to Vet this week for well doggie check and she weighs in at 39 pounds!  She is over half the weight of Isabeau, and she is only four month old.

Here is Anya just after we got her in March.

Here is April!

And here is the most recent...May.
She is becoming quite the arm full!

Last Friday, we went to Chris's house in the evening for a campfire and cook out.  Couldn't stay late, as we have goats to milk and kids to feed, but we had a good time while we were there.

Yesterday, Jenn and I went to Marshall to their May Faire.  It is a small Faire, but the price was right...only $10!  We had a nice time visiting the vendors and then we walked around Marshall and had lunch at a very nice restaurant next to Shullar's Hotel.  Nice day all together.

Greg  had recorded the Preakness for me, so we watched that in the evening.  Good day all around.

The sun is shinning and it is warm out.  Expecting a good day today!

Onward and Upward!
